Janie Mae Clifton Hebert

Janie Mae Clifton Hebert, 65, of Victoria passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010. She was born March 27, 1945, in Ganado. Janie was an avid bass fisher and had been a member of the Victoria Bass Club and Coleto Bass Masters with numerous trophies to her name. She had volunteered for several years at DeTar Hospital and Twin Pines Nursing Home doing the residents hair and nails. You might have even caught her dancing for the ladies. You could always tell when she had been there. All the ladies looked beautiful. She had a natural green thumb and loved working in her jungle and yard.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Ellison H. Clifton and Myrtle Mae Quinn Goode, her brother Tommy Clifton; sisters, Janice Faye Wood, Sandy Kay Brandes and her beloved mother-in-law Maw Maw Hebert.

Janie is survived by her husband, Shelton L. “Sonny” Hebert, Sr.; sons, Kenneth W. Johnson, Jack Nathan Demicelli, Shelton L. Hebert, Jr. and wife, Kim; daughters, Carolyn Johnson Rose, Gina Johnson Howard and husband, Robert, Terri Hebert McKinley; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren and her two cats.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010, from 6-8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. George Tompkins officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phillip King, Billy Wayne Brandes, Michael Brandes, Steven Quinn, Troy Wood and Steven Svacek.

Honorary pallbearers are all of Mrs. Hebert’s grandchildren and great grandchildren, Christopher McKinley, Andrew McKinley, David Howard, Wesley Demicelli, Sara Demicelli, Shelton Hebert III, Anna Hebert, Christina Rose Smith, Ryleigh Smith, Daks Smith, Lawson Smith and Candace Rose Smid; also Dale J. Brandes and Troy Lynn Quinn.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas or MD Anderson.

A special thanks to Lakisha, Lindsey, Debra and Deacon Steve from Hospice of South Texas who were so kind to her during her battle with cancer.
