Jeanette Catherine Wendt Parker of Victoria, Texas, entered into rest on Friday, July 18, 2025. She was 87 years old. Jeanette was born April 19, 1938, to the late Emil Henry Wendt and Georgia Mary Sciba Wendt in Weimer, Texas.
Jeanette grew up in a loving family with her five siblings. She graduated from El Campo High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen and served as Head Majorette. She attended Wharton County Junior College and performed with the Starlettes drill team.
She married the love of her life, Arnold Peavy Parker, on August 18, 1957. They were happily married for 63 years.
Jeanette worked at Travelers Insurance, South Texas Savings, and Delta Drilling, and after years of service, retired from the Texas Rehabilitation Commission.
Jeanette enjoyed playing games with her husband, Arnold, and close friends: Chess, Yahtzee, Spades, Rook, Phase 10, and many others. She was very competitive. Jeanette enjoyed traveling with Arnold to country music shows, with the favorite being Branson. She was an avid shopper, enjoyed movies, and was the first to say yes to family adventures. Even at 87, Jeanette continued to learn about fashion, home décor, and current events while using the internet. Jeanette had a deep faith in God and attended Holy Family Church. Above all, her most loving and giving heart was dedicated to her family.
A beloved mother to Debbie Linley (Doug), Keith Parker (Annette), Denise Murray (Blaise), Kenneth Parker (Bridget), and Dawn Parker. A dear grandmother to Derek, Jennifer, Lindsey, Brittney, Jessica, Nicole, Patrick, Scott, and Chase. A sister to Georgia, Mary Ann, Linda, Tommy, and Suzy. A great-grandmother to 12, an aunt, a friend to many, and to her beloved cat, Angel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Parker; her daughter, Brenda Gayle Parker; her parents, Emil and Georgia Wendt; her granddaughter, Brittney Murray Lesiker; and her sisters, Linda Kana and Suzanne Leopold.
A visitation with reception for family and friends will be Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, Victoria, Texas.
A Funeral Mass will be held July 26, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Victoria, Texas.
