Jimmie Edward McCord

Jimmie “Jim” Edward McCord, 86, of Inez, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at his home in Inez. Jim was born in Koerth, Texas and raised on the banks of Brushy Creek at Hope, TX to the late Orval F. and Pearl Elizabeth Hermes McCord on January 16, 1935. He worked in construction for many years from which he retired, and was the proud owner of The Saddle Horn.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by sons, Michael “Zane” McCord, and Kenneth Ward McCord; step-son, Donald Edward Page; and sister, Martha Lee Jurena.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gail McCrumb McCord; daughters, Sharon Louise (Charlie) Leopold, and Leean Patricia (Donnie) Rother; sons, Larry Edward McCord, Dwight Raymond (Jane) McCord; step-sons, James Roy (Deborah) Page, and Stephen Lee Page; grandchildren, Krystal McCord (David Williams), Cory (Becca) McCord, Amanda (Shane) Jacob, Brandon (Nancy) McCord, Brian (Jamie) McCord, Dillon McCord, Trevor McCord, Clayton (Linsey) Leopold, Garret (Emily) Leopold, Kayla (Josh) Pant, and Elise Rother (Chase Rainosek); step-grandchildren, Krista Marie Page, Emma Jean Page, Karl Edward Page, Rachel (Sean) Sutton, Kyle Page and Hannah Page; fourteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., immediately followed by Funeral Service at 12 p.m., all at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow the service at McCord Family Cemetery County Road 446, Hallettsville, Texas in the Hope Community. Officiating will be Dillon McCord and Pastor Nick Robertson.

Honoring him by serving as Pallbearers will be Cory McCord, Brandon McCord, Brian McCord, Clayton Leopold, Garret Leopold, Dillon McCord, Trevor McCord, Krystal McCord, Amanda Jacob, Kayla Pant, and Elise Rother. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Kusak, Scott Coulter, Francisco Bueno, Frank Neal Rodriguez, Dan Hairell, Frank Cortez, and all of his team roper friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
