Jo Ann Linam Westerman, 91, of Victoria, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. She was born on February 1, 1935 in Victoria to the late Branch and Helen Linam. She graduated from Patti Welder High School in 1953 and married Leonard “Gene” Westerman on August 26, 1955. They shared 58 wonderful years together before his passing in 2013.
Jo Ann and Gene had three children – Leonard, Clay, and Denise. They were lifelong members of Crescent Valley Baptist Church, and were a beautiful Christian example of love, kindness, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Our Mom/Nana was famous for her mini-pecan-pies! She loved to go camping, she never missed any of our sporting events or recitals, she was always over-prepared for a road trip, and she never missed the opportunity to introduce herself to strangers! God gave her many special gifts and she taught us so much about living according to the Word of God, knowing the love of Jesus, and that family is deeply important. Her absence leaves a huge hole, but we will carry on her legacy until we are reunited in Heaven.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Benton, husband Gene, son Leonard, and son-in-law Jimmy.
She will be forever missed by her daughter Denise Hardin, son Clay Westerman (Kathy), grandchildren: Jay Westerman (Brittany), Courtney Calk (Brandon), Jarrod Westerman (Naomi), Katie Hardin, Laura Little (Ryan), Kellie Coomes (Dan), Jarrett Westerman, and 21 great-grandchildren who she adored. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; as well as her Claybrook family and River Bend family, who were very dear to her.
The family will receive visitors from 12:30-2 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Crescent Valley Baptist Church, immediately followed by funeral service to begin at 2 pm, officiated by Pastor TJ Girt and Willis Moore. Interment to follow at Crescent Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jay Westerman, Jarrod Westerman, Brandon Calk, Ryan Little, Dan Coomes, and Seth Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Jarrett Westerman and her great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Morada Memory Care for their care and compassion the last 3 ½ years, as well as Crown Hospice.
Memorials can be made to Crescent Valley Baptist Church, 6679 State Highway 185, Victoria, TX 77905.
