

Buddy Patterson, 77, of Victoria , went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born July 9, 1933, in Arp , Texas , to Pat and Ruby Patterson. He was always very work-oriented, as a young boy he worked at a gas station and shined shoes to make a little extra spending money. As a teenager he worked for his dad on a drilling rig. Just out of high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War achieving the rank of staff sergeant.
Upon returning to the United States , he became a deep sea diver for Collins Construction in Port Lavaca. He traveled the world working in 32 different countries laying underwater pipeline. He was later promoted to Marine Superintendent.
On August 11, 1962, he married the love of his life, Linda Fagan Patterson, and began working for his father's workover rig company. Later he bought his own rig and began a new business endeavor, Patterson Well Service. He was a self made success, always wanting what was best for his family and employees.
Survivors include wife, Linda Patterson; sons, Fagan, Patrick and wife Leigh Ann, and Shane Patterson; grandchildren, Lily, Aubrey, Sydney, Carson, William, and Westin Patterson.
Buddy was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 9th, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Burgess, Joe Cohen, Emmett Cole, Charlie Dobbs, Frankie Drozd, Jack Fitzgerald, Eddie Foreman, Robert Horne, Lee Ingersoll, and Kenneth Price.
A celebration of life will be on Tuesday, May 10th, starting at 6 p.m. at the Power Avenue Warehouse, 402 East Power Avenue, Victoria, Texas, 77901.
Private burial services will be held Wednesday, May 11th, 2011.
