Joe Luis Perez, 49, passed away March 11, 2019. He was born June 25, 1969 in Victoria to Justo Perez, Jr. and Maria Enedina Cavazos Perez.

Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Popo, Papa Joe... One of many names that accounted for the love our Papa Joe placed into the many lives he touched. He was a man whom was cool-reserved and hardworking. He worked for Ingram Ready Mix. A man of many friends, the man you could call upon to help you move, start a pit to BBQ or simply come to for advice. Papa Joe was the wild card of hearts waiting to be drawn at the right moment. In trial Papa Joe will tribute his life in the belief of the greater good as we mourn the loss of the greatest love any person could receive.

He is survived by his parents; fiancé, Adelena Briones Sanchez; daughters, Skye Sanchez, Dominique Sanchez (Nathan Garcia), Bianca Mendez, Gabriela Garza; sisters, Mary (Bernardo) Lara, and Terri (Roy) Partida, Angel Perez (Johnny Rodriguez); brothers, George (Sandra) Perez, Robert ‘Bobby’ Perez, John Perez (Irma De Los Santos); and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosita Perez.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Colonial Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held 9:00 am, Friday, March 15, 2019 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Eliecer Patino presiding. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. I did not know Joe, but I came across this obituary and I was moved by how loved this man was. I am deeply sorry for your lost . May you find peace in the promise the Bible gives that God hates death and soon it will eliminated forever Revelation 21:3,4- "And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May this message give you hope!
