

John “David” Chiles, 65, of Corpus Christi passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. He was born August 4, 1949, in Refugio to Wanda McEntire Chiles of Victoria and the late F. N. Chiles, Jr. David was a graduate of Texas A & M and worked as a structural steel salesman. He grew up in Port Lavaca and enjoyed hunting, salt water fishing, college football, (especially the Aggies) and taking road trips with his children to take photos. He also did grid computing for the Alzheimer’s Association and Children’s Cancer Research. David was also the “VP of IT for the Karaoke Roadshow.” His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his mother survivors include his wife, Peggy Lorenz-Chiles of Corpus Christi; daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Galloway of Corpus Christi; sons, Christopher (Tracy)Chiles and Marshall Chiles, both of New Braunfels; step-daughter, Lacey Lorenz of Corpus Christi; step-son, Nicholas (Jaime) Fikes of Ingleside; sister, Donna (Dean) Sahualla of Victoria; brother, Michael (Ellen) Chiles of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Tatum Galloway, Peyton and Avery Fikes, Hunter Calley and Kaleb Ashley.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Pallbearers will be Chris Galloway, Troy Fries, Derek Rawlings, Jaret Chiles, Nicholas Fikes and Wallis Green.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Pearce, Hunter Calley, Marshall Chiles, Chris Chiles and CD “Bud” Clark, Jr.
