John was a rancher and a farmer. John loved his family and his grandkids. He was married to his beloved wife, Donna, for 44 years. He loved the land and his cows, and found peace and solitude spending time outside taking care of them. Nobody could ever accuse John of being lazy, because he never stopped working, all the while with his family in mind, thinking of them more than himself. He was also a patriot who loved his country, and cared about the direction our Nation is headed.
He loved the mountains, and his favorite trip was when he went to the Pecos Wilderness in New Mexico with his two sons, Justin and Jared, on a Bighorn Sheep hunt. He also loved his trip to Alaska with his wife, Donna, and the family trip to Yellowstone National Park. These are the things he had wanted to see all his life.
John is survived by his wife, Donna Ray Roberts Hagel; his daughter and son-in law Jana Ray Hagel Watson and husband Mark, his sons Justin Wayne Hagel, Jared Aloyesious Hagel, his mother Ann Chlastak Hagel, his sisters Carolyn Weisiger, Grace Heinold, Annie Page, Barbara Hagel, Theresa Powles, Mary Levien, his brothers Robert D.
