He was born February 7, 1940 in Humble, TX to the late John Charles Murphree and Bessie Davenport Murphree. He served as an officer in the US Army for over 12 years and practiced law in Victoria for over 35 years.
John is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Judy Blackaller Murphree of Victoria; his sister Patricia Murphree Benbow (Lance) of Yoakum; son Bryce Murphree (Maggie) of Austin, daughter Cassie Murphree Kruemcke (Clint) of Fort Worth, granddaughter Merrill Kruemcke, and his nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Murphree. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 24th, 2013 at 11am at Trinity Episcopal Church in Victoria, TX.
