Jose immigrated to the United States in 1974 to work and send money home to his family. After only a month he went back for his family that he couldn’t live without.
Jose’s only passions were to be a provider for his loving wife and family, and to play soccer. Jose worked in construction for many years and spent about 9 of them at Fordyce Gravel Company. In 1996 he cofounded Calvo’s Janitorial, Inc. with his wife Gloria, his son, Arturo and his daughter in law, Roxann Calvo. This became one of his proudest achievements. He cherished every employee, contractor and customer as family.
In his later years he enjoyed spending time with Gloria, writing poems, and watching his favorite sport, soccer. Jose was blessed with many family members, from his birth mother, Esther Cantu and birth father, Ricardo Salinas to his adopted parents, Francisco and Bernarda Calvo whom he cherished.
