

Joseph worked for forty years for C.P.L. as a lineman and service man retiring in 1988 as a sales representative, a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and served as former City Councilman and Mayor of Nordheim, TX. During his younger years, he served as an altar boy at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cuero, was a former medication runner known as “Speedy” and also “Soda Jerker” with long time friend and now Judge Ben Prause. Mr. Knox loved to hunt, fish, play his guitar and travel in his motor home with his wife.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Mary Ann Kruppa Knox; daughter Mary Jo Knox Schuenemann and husband Carroll Schuenemann, Jr. of Victoria; grandson, Trey Schuenemann and sister, Billie Leuschner of Victoria.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Knox was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 5-7 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Services will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 11 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Graveside services with military honors will be 12:30 PM at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Yoakum, TX.
Pallbearers include Larry Leuschner, Cordell Moore, Kenneth Smith, Robert Knox, Wes Whittner and Tommy Laird. Honorary pallbearer will be the AEP Retirement Group, employees of Jim’s Big Burger and Judge Ben E. Prause.
