She worked for Bilbo Drilling and Curley Williams, Inc, until she purchased Crossroads Movers, Inc in 1996 with the slogan “Owned and Operated by Women”. A few years later she and her daughter wanted something fun to do and through her passion, strength and dedication, she opened Foster Creek Station in 1999.
Through the years her many customers became friends. She was known for her warm heart, quick wit and a source of advice to many. Foster Creek Station became a shopping destination and a gathering place for great conversation.
Affectionately known as Grandmother, she was a great cook and famous for her politically incorrect Facebook posts, she loved fishing, reading books, traveling to Vegas for the NFR and to play the slots. Her big jewelry and stylish outfits went with her everywhere.
Joyce is survived by her son, Derrick Foster (Paige); her daughter, Susan Foster-Teinert (Paul); granddaughters, Shelby Foster-Torres (Jake), Kodie T. Foster and Brittney Teinert-Slade; her sister, Norma Smolik; her brothers, Vernon “Buck” Karl Jr. (Pauline), Mark Karl (Stephanie) and her cherished niece, Nicole Stiles. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and the special ones that called her Grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.C. Foster; her parents; sister, Bobbie Stiles and brother-in-law, Luke Smolik.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 23, 2026 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Aschenbeck officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Following the burial, a reception and fellowship will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 9806 NE Zac Lentz Pkwy.
Pallbearers will be Luke Smolik, Ross Mansker, Greg Domstead, Joe Beaver, John Brown and Jake Torres.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Baird, The Boys at Crossroads Movers, Dakota Brown, Mark Anthony Karl and Brent Smolik.
