Kenneth Dale Marshall went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 while at home on the ranch with family. There is no doubt he and his loved ones who went before him are happily reunited in Heaven.
He was born on April 4, 1934 and attended school in Bloomington. He graduated in May of 1952 and continued his education at Texas A&I University, graduating in May of 1956. While in high school, he met the love of his life, Mary, whom he married on June 10, 1955. Kenneth and Mary spent the next 60 years of their lives together building a home, family and his career as an educator. Kenneth was a teacher, coach and administrator at Bloomington Independent School District for 40 years. In his various roles he touched the lives of many students and educators. He built a huge network of friends and former students, and it always made him smile to be called “Coach Marshall” whenever he was out and about. He served on the Board of Directors of Coastal Teachers Federal Credit Union for many years. He also had his favorite haunts and enjoyed sharing coffee and banter with his buddies at the feed store, tire and gun shops! He was a rancher, with properties in Victoria and Lavaca counties. Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors and few things excited him more than working cattle or hunting with his grandkids.
Kenneth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomington, where he was a Deacon and member of the Finance Committee. His faith served him well and he served the Lord proudly.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Mark Russell Marshall (Cindy) of Victoria; daughters, Kellye Denette Chavana (Javier) of Bloomington, and Tracey Lyn Mozisek of Victoria; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Marshall Shive (Brian), Mason Scott Marshall, Ryan Lance Howell, Michael Tanner Chavana, Frankie Javier Chavana (Amanda), Reagan Nicole Katch (Nick), and Marshall Connor Mozisek; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Esther Marshall, his parents Earl and Villa Mary Marshall, step-mother Verna Maude Marshall; in-laws Edwin and Esther Marek and his son Michael Keith Marshall.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 6–8 pm at First Baptist Church in Bloomington. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday, July 31, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Bloomington. Burial will follow in Crescent Valley Cemetery.
