

He was born to the late Millard and Wilma Kloesel Sonntag on October 5, 1946 in Shiner, Texas.
He worked for 38 ½ years at Dupont as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He also served in the National Guard and was a member of the Shiner American Legion.
He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, NASCAR racing and riding on the tractor at Sublime place. He was also a good cook and barbecue. He will be missed for all his helpful ways. He was also a loving and special husband.
H e is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Korthals Sonntag, his brother, David (Brigid) Sonntag, niece Bianca (Cody) Horton; great nieces, Haley Marie and Carly Jo Horton; nephew, Scott Sonntag; godchild, Kelli (TJ) Lardy Kouches and faithful companion, Gabby the cat.
Visitation will be from 6-7 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel and funeral services will be at 10 AM, Friday, October 7, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sublime, TX with Pastor Herb Beyer officiating, burial will be at Geiger Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barfield, Boyce Rother, Randy Mikulenka, Jim Ross, Scott Sonntag and Benjamin Taylor.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ed Ferrell, Dr. Joseph Hoang, Dr. Karl Chen and Dr. Hassan Sabbagh for their care in Kenneth’s life. We also want to thank the Citizen’s ER staff for their care and for the compassionate care of the 6th floor nursing staff. Thank you for Pastor Amy Danchik and Father Bill Mormon for his words of comfort and blessing. Also, thanks to all who came by the hospital, letting Kenneth know how loved he was.
