Kerry Dean Davidson, a hard-working and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on May 13, 1947, in Benham, Kentucky, to Reuben and Vannah Jennings Davidson.
Kerry graduated from high school in 1965. He grew up in the Appalachian Mountains and later worked in the coal mines of Kentucky. When the economy took a turn, he moved to Victoria, Texas, and began working for Safety Steel as an electrician and mechanic, where he dedicated over 20 years before retiring.
Kerry served his country in the Air Force, entering the service in Louisville, Kentucky, in April of 1966. He was honorably discharged from active duty at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, in February 1970.
He married Eva Casas Davidson on September 6, 2003, in Victoria, Texas. Kerry is survived by his wife, Eva; daughter, Michelle Louise Allen, and her husband, Steve, of Victoria; son, Michael Wayne Davidson, and his wife, Jennifer; stepdaughter, JoAnne Campos, and her husband, Gerald, of Victoria; and stepsons, John David Valdez and Rene Valdez. He is also survived by his sister, Priscilla Gressler, and her husband, Larry, of Wisconsin; brother, Eddie Davidson, and his wife, Donna, of Cumberland, Kentucky. He is loved and remembered by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Vannah Jennings Davidson; sister, Pamela Roark; and brother, Freddie Davidson.
Kerry was a collector of coins and guns. He loved to work on crossword puzzles and watch TV late into the night.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday, the 26th of November, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel from 12 pm until 1:30 pm, with a rosary to be recited at 1:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM with Pastor Larry Green officiating. A graveside service will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, with full Military honors to be performed by the Victoria Veterans Council.
Serving as pallbearers are Steve Allen, Johnny Ray Valdez, John David Valdez, Tony Moreno, Gerald Lee Campos, and Joe Louis Pena. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Davidson, Jayden Valdez, Lencho Garcia, and Raymond Zuniga.
