LaRae Virginia Blakeney Rodgers, 87, of Wimberly, formerly of Victoria passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She was born November 17, 1923, in Karnes City to the late Sim Frances and Minnie Lorenz Blakeney. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Rodgers Baker and husband, Tom of Wimberly; sons, Lane George Rodgers and wife, Iris, and Lynn Barney Rodgers and wife, Jamie, all of Victoria; brother, Sam Blakeney of Dallas; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Rodgers; sisters, Katherine Blakeney Smith and LaVerne Blakeney Green; brothers, Lorenz Lane Blakeney, Blake Sim Blakeney and Cuberth Blakeney.
Private graveside services will be held Friday.
