LaVerne Williams, aged 89, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2025. She was born on June 28, 1935, in Erath County to J.H. and Ruby Green Cole. She married the love of her life, Bud Williams, on December 10, 1954.
She held many titles in her life: she was the office manager at Roloff, Hnatek and Co. for over 30 years, worked at the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, became a “biker” and put a lot of miles on her bicycle with her lifelong friend Fran, caretaker for her parents, and Sunday school teacher for many years. But her favorite title was “Gmamma”.
LaVerne is survived by two children, Buz (Lori) Williams and Kimberly (Robert) King; grandchildren, Seth Ryan King (Kaitlyn), Brenlee Hannah Katherine King, Travis Aaron King, Michael Alan King (Chelsea), Amber Elizabeth King; 2 great grandchildren, her sister Wanda Packwood, and her brother H. Donnell Cole, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her long-time best friend, Fran Yeary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Veta Edwards, her brother, Douglas Cole, and her husband, Budy C. Williams.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3304 E. Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, Texas, on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on June 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Scott Weatherford officiating, followed by graveside services at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Buz Williams, Seth King, Brenlee King, Michael King, Calvin Long, and Tee Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Texas Children’s Home or Mercy House, Victoria.
