A private funeral service was held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lawrence was born July 14, 1937 to George and Agnes(Knezek) Buxkemper in Victoria, Texas. He attended high school at St Joseph in Victoria, Texas. He graduated from St. Mary’s University with a major in Geology and a minor in History. As a Catholic Brother he taught and coached at schools in Minnesota, El Paso and in Victoria at St Joseph High School. Following his service as a Marianist he had various jobs around the world from San Francisco, California to Japan to Australia and ending up back in Houston, Texas where in 2004 he retired from the Harris County Toll Road Authority. In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling, taking an Alaskan Inside Passage cruise and a trip around Ireland before becoming the caretaker to his beloved wife. His last big adventure was to the “old country” (Germany, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic) with his niece.
Lawrence is preceded in death by: his parents, brothers: Marvin and Billy and his beloved wife of 39 years (1975-2014) Barbara (Tuch).
Lawrence is survived by his nieces: Tracy Buxkemper Bright (Richard) and Tammy Buxkemper Schaefer (Danny) and great-nephews: Chet Bright and Sawyer Bright.
