Lewis “Papa” Keith, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was born April 13, 1941 in Cordele, Texas to the late Melvin and Martha Keith. He married Patricia Schumacher on December 31, 1960 and together they shared a life shaped by companionship and devotion. Lewis graduated from the University of Houston. He retired from CMC Alamo Steel, closing a chapter marked by dedication and pride in his work. He found deep enjoyment in wood carving and gardening, pursuits that spoke to patience, care, and an appreciation for creating something lasting with his hands. He also loved dancing and hunting, and he especially valued time spent with his family. Lewis and Patricia enjoyed traveling together and camping—simple, memorable days that brought them closer to the people and places they loved.
He is survived by his children, Terry Bohannan (Bob), Deborah Green (Tommy) and Dwayne Keith (Dalén); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Keith; parents, Melvin and Martha Keith; and 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 8:30-9:30am at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. A private burial will follow. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnmichael, Bryan, Jonathon, Christopher, Harley and Brody. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy, Casey, Kelsey and Joshua.
