Mrs. Lora Wofford Vickery

Lora Elizabeth Vickery, age 93, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010. She was born April 26, 1917 in Fort Davis, Texas to the late Herman and Edie Harper Wofford. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Baecker and husband Harold, of Victoria, Pat Balfanz and husband Eddie, of Victoria, Ellen Kay Teague of Victoria, Wanda Byars and husband Robert of Kingwood, and Belinda Keeling and husband Wendell of Kingsland; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grand children; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis A. Vickery; son, Capt. Dennis W. Vickery; sister, Ellen Burris; and brother, Herman Wofford.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 am Wednesday, with the Rev. David King officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Baecker, Scott Balfanz, Kevin Byars, Mark Taylor, Gregg Taylor, Don Taylor, Clifford Diebel, and Ryan Diebel. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Teague, Matthew Byars, and Brian Vickery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to John Wesley United Methodist Church, Hospice of South Texas, Shriners Hospital for Children, or donor’s choice.
