Lucille Sparks Sparks Bauer

Lucille Sparks-Bauer, age 92, passed away June 28, 2012. She was born Sept 29, 1919 in Wood Hi, Texas to the late Walter Jackson and Cora Bell (McCurry) Sparks, Sr. She retired from Sears and lived in Victoria where she met her late husband Leslie Lloyd Bauer and married in 1938. They were together for 30 years before his death in 1968. She was devoted to family and her interests included travel, reading, dominoes and playing cards. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Victoria, TX for over 30 years. Lucille’s big smile and infectious laugh brought joy to family and friends. She gave those around her courage, hope and reminded them of the preciousness of life. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her brothers Sonny Sparks and wife Paula, Calvin Sparks and Dale Sparks; her children, Addie Cora Cunningham, Billy Lloyd Bauer and wife Beth, Dorothy Lucille and husband John Norton, and Taylor Huddleston and wife Dorothy Ann; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Also her loving and forever faithful four legged companions, Tiger and Tuffie. Lucille Sparks-Bauer was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leslie Lloyd and siblings Nellie B Sparks., Warren Sparks, W. J. Sparks. Jr., Allen Sparks and Kenneth Ray Sparks. The visitation will be held July 1, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held July 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Family and Friends will gather after the service at College Church of Christ located at 3200 N. Ben Jordan in the Fellowship Hall. I have many fond memories of my Aunt Lucille. She was always a lot of fun to be around. I will miss her, however knowing she's in a better place gives me comfort and that one day I will see her again.
