Lurah loved her family, friends, bluebonnets, and the changing leaves of the seasons. She especially enjoyed quilting and lovingly made quilts for the people she cared about. Her favorite saying was, "Every stitch was made with love." Those words beautifully described the life she lived. Everything Lurah did for her family was done with love. The quilt she created will remain a treasured reminder of her warm hands and generous heart. Though she is no longer with us, Lurah's love will live on in every family gathering and every quilt made with loving hands. Her memory will forever be stitched into the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Lurah is survived by her daughters, Lurah (Alex) Alvarez and Sarah (Jerry) Dodson, and her son, Joe Scott; her sister, May Bonno; and her brother, Eddie (Betty) Prince. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Lurah was preceded in death by her beloved partner, Jerry Sawey; sons, Jimmy Scott and John Scott; her parents; her brothers, J.W. Prince and Jack Prince; her sister, Vickie Engler; and her grandchildren, Brandon Oliver, James Scott, Samantha Scott, and Latisha Scott.
