Lynette Loest Thigpen

Lynette Loest Thigpen (lovingly known as Granny T), 90, of Victoria, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at her home in Victoria. She was born in Weesatche, Texas to the late Anton and Lydia Kern Loest on October 8, 1931. Lynette was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Victoria, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Ned Givens Thigpen, Jr., son; Jerry Thigpen, great-grandchild; Stayton Hammack, sisters; Dorothy Lau and Ruby Heil, brothers; Bill Loest and Delmar Loest, and sisters-in-law; Geraldine Spears and Ruby Neil Thigpen.

Lynette is survived by her daughters; Yvonne (Larry) Trompler, Shirley (Dee) Harkey, Karen (Gerrold) Belk, Wanda (David) Gaskamp and Linda (John) Smith, son; Clay (Sandy) Thigpen, brother; Anton Loest, Jr., sisters-in-law; Doris White, Debra Thamn and Lois Ann Sikes, brothers-in-law, Douglas (Meryle) Thigpen, Vernon (Iris) Thigpen, Walter (Dixie) Thigpen and Harry Heil, twenty-one grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, November 1, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 10 am at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, immediately followed by interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Chip Reynolds, of First English Lutheran Church.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jay Thigpen, Chad Thigpen, Jason Thigpen, Jesse Barter, Danny Gibson, Tim Gibson, Mike Gibson, Dr. Justin Harkey, Ryan Belk, and Jeremy Belk. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her honor to First English Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
