Marcella Eckhardt Ashley

Marcella Eckhardt Ashley, 84 of Victoria passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was born in Corpus Christi to Marcellus and Elizabeth Eby Eckhardt on February 3, 1932. Mrs. Ashley graduated from Baylor University with her B.A. and then went on to receive her Masters of Education from the University of Houston. Utilizing her talent and education she became a teacher of the deaf for the HEAR Foundation. Marcella was a member of Fellowship Bible Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Christan Clark Haney and husband, David of Baytown, Nancy “Gay” Anderson and husband, Murray of Austin; son, Marc D. Ashley and wife, Sherry of Spring; a sister, Bess Grevelle of Church Hill, TN; six grandchildren, Clayton Anderson of Austin, TX, Chris Haney and wife, Briana of League City, Matthew Ashley and fiancée, Lauren Wisnoski of Houston, Eric Anderson of Austin, Laura Ashley and fiancée, Jay Taylor of Houston and Scott Haney of Commerce, TX.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ashley was preceded in death by her husband, Delton Ashley and a sister, Mary White.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels, 3304 Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, TX. Funeral services will be 10 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, 3304 Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, TX with Rev. Clayton Lopez officiating. Graveside services will be Noon at the Eckhardt Ranch Cemetery, 3695 State Hwy 72, Yorktown, TX. Pallbearers will be Clayton Anderson, Eric Anderson, Matthew Ashley, Chris Haney, Scott Haney and Travis Brandt.
