

Frances Marcella Curry Wagner, 90, of Victoria passed away November 30, 2016. She was born November 19, 1926 in Aubray, Texas to the late Clifford Claude and Addie Aaron Curry and grew up in Floydada, Texas, where her father was a farmer and her mother, a homemaker. During her teenage years she worked helping her father on the farm and as a nurses’ aide. As the oldest daughter among five siblings, she remained a devoted caretaker of her extended family members throughout her life. Gregarious and witty by nature, she greatly enhanced her husband’s Naval and VA careers. In the process of the 37 moves made during her husband’s years of education, careers, and retirement, she lived in Cuba and in Puerto Rico, as well as in many states. She became very skilled in quickly transforming house into home, ultimately settling in Tuleta, Texas, before moving to Victoria. Wherever she found herself she maximized her involvement in her surroundings, displaying avid interest and curiosity in the regional points of interest. She was a Red Cross Volunteer, a Daughter of the Nile, a collector, a seamstress, a traveler, a Model A Ford and motor home driver, and a member of the Model A Ford Club. She was awarded the rank of Life Master by the American Contract Bridge League.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Dr. William J. Wagner of Victoria; daughters, Theresa W. Rutledge (Bill) of Austin, Debra J. Wagner (Tymme Whight) of Cedar Creek, and Toni M. Wagner of Corpus Christi; son, Dr. William J. Wagner Jr. (Dr. Anne) of Victoria; five grandchildren, William “Skye” J. Wagner III ( Yasmin), Arianne Wagner White (Brian), William “Billy” Rutledge (Hannah), Stacy Rutledge and Jason Wagner; five great-grandchildren, Isabel Wagner, Holden Wagner, Kali Kugler, Jackson White and Virginia Rutledge; and two step-grandchildren, Richard Whight and Jennifer Whight.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Claudine Mayes and Joanna Hall and brothers, Archie Curry and Clifford Curry.
Graveside services will be at 2 pm Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Carl Westbrook officiating.

DIRECTIONS TO THE GRAVESIDE:
Enter Evergreen Cemetery through the main stone entrance on Vine Street. Continue all the way down to the back of the cemetery and there is a parking area at the base of the cemetery, close to the gravesite.
