Margie Ann Cervenka Sklar, 94 of Hallettsville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at home. She was born on December 30, 1930, in Moravia, Texas, to the late Charlie and Tonie (Trlica) Cervenka.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Guthrie, her siblings George Cervenka, Lorene Frank, and her son Bill.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Kay King (David); son, Charles (Nancy); grandson, Charles Jr.; three step-grandchildren, Ryan King (Jessica), Jenna Richardson (Adam), and Aaron King (Laura); eleven step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margie was a graduate of Hallettsville High School. She was a member of the John Wesley Global Methodist Church.
Margie and Guthrie were lifelong farmers and ranchers, always giving back to the community. Margie enjoyed cooking and gardening.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm, also at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Carl Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Rigsby, Lonnie Varner, Felix Vasquez, Otto Cervenka, Caleb Cervenka, and Jarrod Cervenka.
Honorary pallbearers are George “Bubba” Cervenka, Harold Frank, and Suzanne Wesson.
