Marie L McBryde

Marie was born Feb. 28, 1924 at Saturn, TX in Gonzales County. She went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2010. She graduated from Waelder High School, Waelder, TX, in 1941. In 1945 she married Bruce McBryde of Kerrville.

Marie is survived by two children: Ronnie McBryde and his wife, Joan, of Las Vegas, NV, and Sharon Berman of Plano. Marie’s grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Honey” are Beau McBryde and wife Esther of Missoula, MT; Britni McBryde of Tucson, AZ; Blake Berman of Scottsdale, AZ; and Blair Berman of Dallas, TX; other beloved relatives and a host of friends.

Marie’s passion was for church missions. She held office in all the Southern Baptist Women’s Missionary organizations. She was a member of the Bykota Sunday School Class at First Baptist in Victoria, for over 35 years; a member of the Avalon Garden Club for 30 years; and was active in the “Reach for Recovery” cancer organization. Marie enjoyed being a member of the “First Ladies” of Victoria National Bank. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where she was on the Missions Committee that planned the building of the new church on the north side of Victoria. She also served on the initial pastor search committee.

She was preceded in death by husband, Bruce McBryde, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Deaton.

Visitation will be 6 to 7 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 3, 2010. Following a private graveside service, Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 4th at 3 pm at Parkway Baptist Church.
