Mary G. Covarrubias

Mary G. Covarrubias, 101, of Victoria passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was born in Banquete on September 18. 1910, to the late Merced and Maria Ramos Garcia. She is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Sifuentes (Ted), of San Antonio, Stella C. Silva (widow of Joe Silva), of Victoria and Terry Melton (Larry), of Conroe; and a brother, Joe Garcia of Austin. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Skeeter" Covarrubias, three grandchildren and all other brothers and sisters. Visitation will be at 5 PM Friday, November 25, 2011 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM before a funeral mass at 1 PM Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Dan Morales and Father Tony Boateng-Mensah officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ernest Melton, Joe Melton, Glenn Silva, Gary Wakefield, J. J. Gaspard and William Murphy.
