It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Cornelia “Connie” Salmon Jacob. She passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025 at the age of 82. Connie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born in Richmond, Virginia to Eugene and Mary George Salmon, Connie spent many of her younger years moving around the world with her military family. She attended school at Fort Sam Houston, Arlington Virginia, Saigon Vietnam, Anchorage Alaska and graduated from McArthur High School in San Antonio.
Beyond her role as mother, Connie loved fashion, jewelry and shopping. She also enjoyed cake decorating winning many awards, arts, crafts and playing Bingo. Connie was honored to serve as President of the Independent Cattleman’s Association and was an active member of the Cattlewoman’s Association.
She was a small package, with a personality larger than life. All who knew her, loved her and will not forget her wit, charm and social grace.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Earlan Lloyd Jacob, lovingly remembered by her Son Eugene Jacob (wife Tammey), granddaughters Brittany and Caitlin (husband Cameron); Daughter Yvette LaRoux Pagel (husband Dennis); granddaughters, Alyssa and Kyrsten. Sister-in-law Patricia Lux (husband Edward Lux), nephews Brian and Andy Lux, (wife Melissa).
