Mary Katherine “Kathy” Bianchi, 83, of Victoria passed away on February 18, 2015. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Houston to the late Frank and Julia Bienek Kalinowski, Sr. She was a graduate of Nazareth Academy, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society and Restoration committee, and for many years she was in charge of the plates-to-go for the Annual Parish Festival. Kathy also enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Krenek, husband Patrick; Jan Bianchi and David Loya, all of Victoria; brother, Edward Kalinowski, Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Wallace Bianchi; brothers, Frank, Jr., Joseph and Robert Kalinowski; and sisters, Julia Anne Gormely, Frances K. Dietzel and Estelle K. Brady.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, February 21, 2015, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 1:15 PM, followed by with the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Kollannur officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Cornelius, Vic Dietzel, John Mayer, Michael Bianchi, Forrest "Buddy" Hand and George Mayer.
Honorary pallbearer is her godson, Stephen Bianchi.
