Mary Esther Marshall went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 13, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones. She was 78. There is no doubt she is now a member of God’s choir, one of His pianists and happily reunited with friends and family in Heaven.
Mary was born August 6, 1937 in Lake Placedo, Texas to Esther (Mimi) and Edwin (Pampy) Marek of Placedo, Texas.
She attended Bloomington High School and graduated in May 1955. While there she met the love of her life, Kenneth, whom she married on June 10, 1955. Kenneth and Mary shared the next sixty years together where she managed a growing household and provided comfort, faith and direction for her family. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Bloomington and considered the congregation her second family. She served in many roles in the church, from Sunday school teacher to choir member to pianist. Her faith served her well and she served the Lord proudly. All who knew Mary will miss her presence, kind smile and abiding faith. She lived her life to the fullest, no matter what trials were laid before her.
Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dale Marshall of Victoria; son Mark Russell Marshall (Cindy) of Victoria; daughters Kellye Denette Chavana (Javier) of Bloomington; Tracey Lynn Mozisek (Kenneth) of Victoria; and sister Delores Allen of Shreveport, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Marshall Shive (Brian), Mason Scott Marshall, Ryan Lance Howell, Michael Tanner Chavana, Frankie Javier Chavana (Amanda), Reagan Nicole Mozisek and Marshall Connor Mozisek; and four great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Esther and Edwin Marek, in-laws, Earl and Maude Marshall and her son, Michael Keith Marshall, preceded Mary Esther in death.
Pallbearers are: Ryan Howell, Frankie Chavana, Tanner Chavana, Marshall Mozisek, Mason Marshall and Nick Katch.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Terry Whitehouse and the staff of Hospice of South Texas.
Mary’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the friends and extended family, doctors and their staff that visited and prayed, showed love and compassion and took care of her physically and spiritually the last year of her life.
A special thank you to our Aunt Delores who made Mom’s last journey a peaceful transition to a new life in Christ.
