

Mary Lovine Green Scherlen, 101 of Victoria passed away on March 21, 2012. She was born on July 5, 1910, in Victoria County to the late Lee Green and Pauline Schulze Green. She attended school in Goliad County. She married Frank J. Scherlen on May 29, 1929, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral where she was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Halsey Street Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Lucille Lee and husband, John, and Ruby Tagliabue Dawson and husband, Roger and one son, Raymond F. Scherlen and wife, Ann. She is also survived by grandchildren Cindy Cheney and husband, Roger of Tennessee, Pam Lee of Victoria, Diane Ferbrache and husband, Mike of Renton, Washington, Doug Tagliabue and wife, Cathy of Richmond, Dennis Tagliabue and wife Anne of Georgetown, Gayle Lowery and husband, Wayne of Friendswood, and Dawn Cummings and husband, Greg of Victoria. She has 15 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Scherlen, Parents, grandson Larry Gene Barnett, great granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Tagliabue, and two brothers Jesse and Carl Green.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 6 to 7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home with a Rosary to follow at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10 am. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Lowery, Greg Cummings, Doug Tagliabue, Dennis Tagliabue, Brett Tagliabue, Garrett Tagliabue, Trey Sheffield and Robert Durrant.
