Oscar C. Gonzales

Oscar Candelaria Gonzales, 82, of Dale, formerly of Victoria, passed away on June 29, 2026, surrounded by his family in Dale, Texas. He was born in Victoria, Texas, to Alvino and Eulalia Gonzales on December 5, 1943. He met and married the love of his life, Lupe Robles Gonzales, and to this union, four children were born. Oscar was a very proud Licensed Master Social Worker at the Gulf Coast Trade Center, and he served proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Alvino Pato Gonzales and Eulalia Candelaria Gonzales Serrata, Oscar is preceded in death by Oscar Gerald Gonzales Jr., John Serrata (Lillie), John (Jono) Serrata, Angelita Serrata Garcia (Fred), Alvin Gonzales (Josephine), and Lidia Serrata Ledesma (Alfred). Oscar was joined in heaven after his passing by his grandson, Gabriel A. Oscar lvin Gonzales, which we are sure that he welcomed with open arms.

Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Gonzales; his sons, Oscar C. Gonzales, Jr.; Mario A. Gonzales and his wife, Corrin; and his daughter, Monica P. Gonzales. He is also survived by his siblings, Viola Johnson (Ki), Robert C. Serrata (Brenda), Sylvia Serrata, and Daniel Serrata (Lisa). He leaves behind five grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, 5-7 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in the Regency Chapel, with rosary beginning at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Oscar Gonzales Jr., Isaac Gonzales, Mario Gonzales, Jayden Gonzales, Monica Gonzales, Jose Robles, Austin Gonzales and Robert Serrata.
