

Otto R. Hermes, 83 of Victoria passed away February 2, 2011. He was born December 24, 1927 in Sweet Home, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Hermes. Otto served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for Texas Concrete for many years before retiring. He married Adeline Schroeder and they celebrated 60 years of marriage in August 2010. Otto loved Hunting, fishing and skeet shooting and belonged to the Victoria Gun Club.
Otto is survived by his wife Adeline Hermes of Victoria; children, Debbie Bartram, Sandy Boltz and husband Bill, Tammie Harabis, Doug Hermes and wife Connie; grandkids, Becky Weiser and husband Darren, Bradley Boltz and wife Mollie, Chad Harabis, Ryan Harabis and Nathan Hermes; great-grandkids, Taylor and Zachary; sister, Geneva Polasek and sister-in-law, Lydia Hermes.
In addition to his parents Otto was preceded in death by his son-in-law Gus Bartram and brothers, Eugene Hermes and James Hermes.
A time of Visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Colonial Funeral Home in Victoria. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Funeral Mass to follow at 2 pm. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veteran’s Council will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Boltz, Chad Harabis, Ryan Harabis, Nathan Hermes, Darren Weiser and Jay Hanslik.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the St. Mary’s Activity Center.
