Fito was an Army veteran and Sergeant of the 82nd Airborne Division, and he worked for many years with Safety Steel and Zarsky Lumber Co. Above all else, he was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. An enthusiastic Cowboys and Astros fan, he enjoyed watching football and baseball.
Fito is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Refugia “Fufy” Garcia; son, Stephen Garcia and his wife Jackie of Cypress; sister, Rose Gomez of Victoria; granddaughters, DeLea Salazar and her husband Bryan of Victoria, Kelsey Pietsch and her husband Dalton of Cypress; and great-grandchildren, Skylar Salazar and Tyler Pietsch.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Anthony Garcia; and nine siblings.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 9-9:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by the reciting of the rosary at 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am with Rev. Gabriel Bentil officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Honoring Fito as Pallbearers will be Bryan Salazar, Dalton Pietsch, Tyler Pietsch, Ricky Gomez, Erik Hernandez, and Nathan Guajardo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
