Patricia Ann (Light) “Pat/Patty” Goldman, age 79, of Victoria, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 13, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born November 9, 1938, in Corpus Christi to the late Sidney “Buddy” and Alma (Manthey) Light.
Pat was a 1957 graduate of Patti Welder High School of Victoria and a graduate of Durham Business College. Pat married the love of her life John William Goldman on February 24, 1957. They moved to College Station, where they soon started their family while John attended Texas A&M.
After graduation they moved to the Dallas area, then to the Rio Grande Valley before returning to their roots in Victoria. She was employed by numerous banks, accounting services, managed several dental firms, and owned clothing stores, “Pat’s Wearhouse” in Prosper and McAllen.
After retirement, Pat and John managed their rental properties and mobile home park in Victoria. Anyone who knew Pat fell in love with her instantaneously because of her sweet nature, selflessness and compassion toward others.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During Pat’s life she enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, John; her children; Terry Lynn Cuevas of Victoria, Tracy Lea Lundin (Michael) of Victoria, Tammy Linnette Gibbs (Paul) of Austin and JP Goldman (April) of Victoria; grandchildren, Dustin Cuevas and Ashley Foster (Rocky), Chad Thornbrough (Krystal), Presley Gibbs, Cami and Gage Goldman; great grandchildren, Chad Jr., Cash and Champ Thornbrough.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Light.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 pm, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family would like to offer special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Larry Reidel for his continuous care and to extend their appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Detar Hospital and her attending caregivers.
