Patricia Mary Zamzow (Tajchman), 84, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026. Born on September 12, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Patricia lived a life filled with love and devotion.
Patricia began her career as a helper on her family farm, picking cotton and completing the daily duties of farm life. Later, she became a beautician, worked in a meat market, and then as an operator for Southwestern Bell. She later became a waitress at Big Mac's truck stop, where she met the love of her life, Arlon Christian Zamzow. Together they built a beautiful partnership and life together for 49 yrs. Patricia finally became the heart and voice of their family business, "Zamzow's Dirt Service," managing the office with dedication and care for over 40 yrs.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Arlon; her children, Leah Renee Fisher (husband Danny and granddaughter Amber), Walter William Byerly, Christian Wayne Zamzow (wife Megan and two grandsons Hunter and Cooper), and Casey Steven Zamzow (wife Brooke and two granddaughters Lindsey and Rachel). She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Tajchman; mother, Louise Riess; sister, Pauline Mueck; and brother, Fred Tajchman.
Patricia and Arlon were/are devout members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They found joy in supporting the Catholic community through church picnics and faithfully attending Mass wherever their travels took them. The best days were spent traveling back roads to visit various functions where she and Arlon could listen to polka music and dance.
Patricia loved the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed watching wildlife—deer grazing in the yard, birds fluttering about, and a family of foxes nearby. She also cherished vacations to the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels and trips to Branson, Missouri with Arlon and his Army friends.
Her kindness and devotion were evident in every aspect of her life. Whether caring for her many plants or showing unwavering love to her family, Patricia’s actions reflected the depth of her heart.
Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 101 W Church St., Victoria, TX 77901. Entombment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
