

Richard Dean Bitterly, 56, of Edna, and formerly of Victoria, passed away November 18, 2011, after a sudden illness. Richard was born in Victoria November 12, 1955, to Louis and Vergie Bruns Bitterly. Richard worked for South Texas Nuclear Plant for many years where he was a maintenance supervisor. Richard and Lisa owned the Old School House Restaurant in Edna for many years.
In addition to his parents he is survived by the love of his life, Lisa Nack Bitterly, of Edna; his children whom he dearly loved, Jennifer Seydler and husband, Dean, of Friendswood, Jeff Bitterly of Dallas and Jared Bitterly of Edna; sisters, Kathy Howard and husband, Dale, of Tomball, Cheryl Neese of Victoria and Theresa Ruddock and husband, Ed, of LaVernia; brothers, David Bitterly and wife, Norma, of Victoria and Jerry Bitterly and wife, Dottie, of Victoria; two precious grandchildren, Tristan and Fallon Seydler, whom he adored.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 6 to 8 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 am Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral with Monsignor Michael Harrold officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff, Jared, David and Jerry Bitterly, Dean Seydler and Mike Nack.
A heartfelt thanks goes to his crew and to Don Lankford for making his job so much easier.
If one so desires donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a scholarship fund at the First Victoria National Bank in the name of Jared Bitterly.
