Rick E. Magaña, 60, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on May 20, 1965, in Kingsville, Texas, Rick grew up in Victoria, Texas, where he graduated from Stroman High School in 1984. Soon after, he began a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, serving for twenty-one years and retiring as a Master Sergeant. His career included deployment in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, exemplifying courage and commitment to his country.
Following his military service, Rick pursued higher education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, earning a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science Management and graduating Cum Laude from the College of Architecture in 2013. He went on to work with Foster CM Group for more than a decade as a Construction Engineer, where his dedication, loyalty, and strong work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Rick lived a life centered on family, hard work, and helping others. He had a gift for making people laugh, showing up when it mattered the most, and offering steady support without seeking recognition. His love for sports, music, and time spent with family brought joy to those around him. He also cherished the outdoors, finding peace in fishing and hunting, and took pride in his green thumb, nurturing plants with the same care and dedication he gave to those around him.
Rick is survived by his children, Natalie, Marisa, Anastasia, and Jacob Magaña. His beloved grandchildren, Juliet Mitchell & Krew Richardson. His parents, Xavier and Lupita Yzaguirre Sr.; brother Xavier (Crystal) Yzaguirre Jr.; and sisters Patricia (Rudy) Lerma, Victoria (Ernest) Flores, and Melissa (Juan) Casas; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

A funeral service is to be conducted at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, located at 3304 Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, Texas, on January 29, 2026, at 10:00 am. Rick will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
