Rita Hernandez Cardosa

Rita Hernandez Cardosa , 88 of Victoria passed away February 18, 2011. She was born August 19, 1922, in Wharton County to the late Juan and Inez Rubio Hernandez. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Altar Society.

She is survived by her son, Lionel Cardosa, Jr. and his wife, Nellie; three grandsons, Darron Cardosa and Mark Jones, Chad Cardosa and Coby Cardosa and his wife, Dawn; three great-grandchildren, Brenna, Georgia and Cash Cardosa; sisters, Otilia Mora and Margaret Baldez; brothers, John R. Hernandez, Gonzalo R. Hernandez and Richard R. Hernandez.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel C. Cardosa, Sr., and son, Thomas Rene Cardosa; brothers, Ben R. Hernandez, Mitchell R. Hernandez, Lupe R. Hernandez and Joe R. Hernandez.

A rosary will be recited at 1 pm on Monday, February 21, 2011, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral with Funeral Mass to begin at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
