

Robert Alonzo Crews, 94, of Houston passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. He was born December 25, 1919, in Pittsburg, Kansas to the late Oscar Alonzo Crews and Ida Mae Crews/nee Smith. He retired from Amoco after 33 years and then was employed by BP Consulting for 3 years. Mr. Crews was a 60 year member of First United Methodist Church of Houston, Texas, where he and his wife were charter members of the Quillian Sunday School Class. He served honorably in the Merchant Marines during World War II transporting war materials between the United States and the South Pacific.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Hancock and her husband, Mark of Fannin, TX; son, Randy Crews and his wife, Carol of Sugar Land, TX; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gladys Lala Crews, his sister, Dorothy and brother, Jack.
Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. John Alsbrook officiating.
