Roger E. Dixon passed away on July 4th in Victoria, Texas surrounded by family and friends at the age of 63. Roger was born on July 16, 1954 in Pomeroy, Ohio to Herbert V. Dixon and Agnes Dixon. He graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor’s of Science in 1976. Roger had a long career as a Petroleum Engineer, starting his career with Conoco. He went on to work with Quintana, Hilcorp and finished his career with T-C Oil Company. Along the way he built many great friendships. He enjoyed playing football, softball, hunting, bowling, playing golf and spending time with his family.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Dixon; his son Jeffrey A. Dixon and daughter-in-law, Brandi Dixon; his daughter, Melanie Rae Gerdes and son-in-law, Kevin Gerdes. He also had a grandchild, Bentley Dixon, who he loved and adored. Roger is also survived by his sister, Susan Mash and brother-in-law and special friend, James Allen (Bimbo) Micek.
Visitation will be from 11 am -1 pm Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Clark, Monroe Schroeter, J. T. Chandler, Herbert Hermes Jr., Dustin Brown and Glen Janak.
