Rose Marie Dunlap

Rose Marie Dunlap, age 84, passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Victoria, Texas. She was born June 21, 1932, in Port Lavaca, Texas to the late Roselle and Marie Clegg. She graduated from Port Lavaca High School in 1951 and received her Bachelor of Psychology degree from The University of Houston in 1981.

Rose was a loving and faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister and more. She blessed the lives around her with compassion, kindness and understanding, always looking for ways to serve her family. She enjoyed sewing, painting and time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Herbert; children, John Dunlap and wife, Kathleen, Janet Copeland and husband, Lynn, Teresa Polley and husband, Dale, Denise Counley and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Lauren Dunlap, Lesley Ettekel, Landyn Dunlap, Jessica Steves, Jennifer Jones, David Copeland and Sydnie Counley; great grandchildren, Ethan and Grant, Virginia Lynn and Joella Rose; siblings, Robert E. Clegg and wife, Margaret; Samuel P. Clegg and wife, Marta and numerous family members and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her brother, J.R. Clegg, Jr.

The rosary will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at 9:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 105 N. William St., Victoria, Texas. Burial will immediately follow at Port Lavaca Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
