Rose L. Tompkins

Rose Lee Tompkins, 90, Tivoli, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. She was born on January 9, 1922 in Leland, Mississippi to the late Vincent Giardina and Lucy Carollo Giardina. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Tivoli.

Survivors include daughters, Marjorie Kelso (Burton), of Tivoli and Barbara Eddy, (Allen) of Victoria, Lucy Marie Simmons, of Tivoli; sons,Nevel "Pete" Tompkins, Jr. (Lynn) of Hallettsville, Thomas N. Tompkins, of Tivoli and Michael G. Tompkins, of Port Lavaca; sisters, Mary Lee Ferracci, of Indianola, Mississippi, Annette Wells of Cleveland, Mississippi, Elizabeth Crawford of Greenville, Mississippi and Elaine Jo Dawkins of Jackson, Mississippi; and 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Nevel C. Tompkins, Sr.; sister, Sarah Parker, brothers Tony and Frank Giardina.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Tivoli Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jay Kelso, Darren Kelso, Danny Kelso, Paul Baker, Vincent Simmons, Vance Simmons, Roddy Tompkins, Lance Tompkins, Keven Tompkins, and Chris Tompkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Melissa Gonzales, Lisa Cradit, Angie Dugi and Cheryl Heyde.
