Sarah was a strong woman, but was quiet in her own way. She had a sense of service in everything that she did. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bloomington, and taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, hosted church events in her home, and volunteered at Christ Kitchen.
She retired from Alcoa as a benefits administrator. Her job was important to her and she made the constant effort to keep her co-workers informed of the benefits available. She collected and read cook books and truly enjoyed cooking. She was very dear to her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
It is with great love and appreciation that the family wants to acknowledge the tender care and personal attention shown to Sarah by Donny and Sylvia Elkins and their family during her life. The giving of their hearts, their time and their love is immeasurable.
She is survived by her children, Arda Lee Madeley of Bridgeport, Quincy Milo Thompson and wife Brenda of Victoria, Kenneth Franklin Thompson and wife Candace of Phoenix, and Mary Barbara Crowley and husband Gary Lynn Crowley of Bridgeport; sister, Mary Ellen Evans and husband Cayson of Pampa; brothers, Robert D. “Bob” Bird and wife Carol of Guymon, Oklahoma and Walker A.
