Our dear mother, Sulema Galvan passed away peacefully in the afternoon on Friday the 27th of February 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on the 15th of April 1937, in Kenedy, Texas to Servando and Maria Arevalo Garcia.
She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Sylvia Webb and husband James, Grace Munoz and husband Mike, and Rose Aumann and husband Craig; her sons, Joe Galvan and Ben Galvan and wife Diana; her brother, Rudy Garcia; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edward Galvan.
For over 40 years, she opened her home as a cherished child care provider, nurturing generations of children with unwavering patience, kindness, and warmth. Many of those little ones grew into adults who continued to seek her out, greeting her with big hugs that spoke volumes about the lasting bonds she formed.
She found great delight in trips to Coushatta Casino, where she loved the thrill of gambling and the excitement of the games.Being as Astros' fan she experienced the highs and lows with each season. She cherished her cats, who brought her endless comfort.
After Edward’s passing, and in her later years, she moved to Morada assisted living in Victoria, where she embraced the companionship of a vibrant community, made many dear friends, and continued to spread her gentle spirit and joy.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, the extended family, the countless “kids” whose lives she touched, and her cherished friends at Morada. Her legacy of care, connection, quiet strength, and simple joys lives on in every embrace she inspired.
