Don is survived by the mother of their children Pamela Pittman Pozzi; two sons, Jeffrey Emil Pozzi and his wife Kerry and Jonathan Paul Pozzi and his wife Elizabeth, one step-daughter Mary Kathryn LeMaster and her husband William; four grandchildren, Lauren Pozzi, Kendall Pozzi, Koban Janak, and Hank LeMaster; and three great-grand children, Kole Janak, Khloe Janak and Kamryn Janak.
Don was preceded in death by Gaye Gilster Pozzi.
Don was a proud veteran who loved his country and his community. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a life member of the VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America, and a member of the American Legion.
Don was a lifelong resident of Victoria County and served as Victoria County Judge from 2003 through 2014. He served his community on many boards from 1974 to 2023. He served as Chair of Citizens Medical Center, Housing Authority of Victoria, Youth Home of Victoria, Child Welfare Board, Our Lady of Victory and St. Joseph School Boards, and as a member, or ex-officio of the Victoria Economic Development Corporation, Workforce Commission, Juvenile Board, Metropolitan Planning Organization, Victoria Regional Airport and Victoria County Navigation District at Port of Victoria.
He was an Honorary Life Member of Victoria Foster Parents Association and was appointed to the Golden Crescent Regional Review Committee by Governor Rick Perry.
In 2014, he was honored by the Victoria Chamber of Commerce as Outstanding Citizen of the Year.
Don practiced law in Victoria for 33 years prior to his election as County Judge. He was a member of the firm of Mallette & Pozzi and later Mallette, Pozzi, and Cihal.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 14th of October 2025, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. A recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at seven o'clock.
The Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 15th of October, at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Following the Mass, the Honorable Judge Pozzi will receive Military Honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in St. Peter's Hall.
He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery, Red River & Main, Victoria, TX, at one o'clock in the afternoon.
Honorary Pallbearers are John Hammack, Cathy Bailey, Joyce Deleon, Dan Pedone, Jim West, and Robby Burdge.
