

Thurman Spencer Clements, age 92, departed this life peacefully at his home in Victoria, Texas on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. He was born on October 21, 1918 in Wharton, Texas to the late Lewis Dickson Clements and Ruth Neal Clements.
Thurman graduated from the University of Texas in 1942 with a degree in Geology. He served as a B-24 naval aviator in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He led an exciting life as a cattle rancher for 15 years in British Columbia, Canada and continued ranching in Kerrville and Victoria, Texas. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting in locations throughout the world. He was a fun-loving and gregarious person who enjoyed life for all it has to offer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Hally Ballinger Bryan Clements, 86. He is also survived by his three children who are Thurman Spencer Clements, Jr., 54, and his wife Teresa of Victoria, Hally Clements Hammack, 52, and her husband Jason of Inez and Lewis Dickson Clements, II, 48, and his wife Pamela of College Station; and six grandchildren Robert Bryan Kontnier, 22, Thurman Spencer Clements, III, 16, Emily Ruth Clements, 15, Lewis Dickson Clements, Jr., 13, Stephen Morrison Clements, 13, and Jacob Matthew Hammack, 7. He is further survived by his niece Laura Fly Bellows and her husband Wayne of San Francisco, California.
He was preceded in death by his sister Becky Neal Fly and her husband William S. Fly and his parents.
The Family will receive visitors at their home, 595 Conti Lane, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday, December 31, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Burr Dobbins officiating. Private graveside services will be held by the Family. A Wake will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday at the Family’s home. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Fred Lykes, Marion Fox, Raymond Harrison, Pharr Duson, Bobby Hewitt, Dr. Arthur Shannon, and Kerry McCann.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, or the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation Scholarship Fund.
