He was born October 28, 1931, in Longview, Washington, to Vance Newton Sr. and Ruth Switzer Cribb.
Vance joined the Air Force in 1951, where he found his passion for flying. He served his country honorably until his retirement in 1973 as a lieutenant colonel.
While stationed at Foster Air Force Base, Victoria, Texas, he met the love of his life Annie Marie Dusek. They married on April 28, 1957, and raised four children as they enjoyed sixty-two adventurous years together. Throughout their marriage they lived in England, France, and Germany, as well as various places in the United States.
Vance grew up in the Pacific Northwest along the Columbia River, where he enjoyed boating, hiking, water skiing, and snow skiing. He shared his great love of nature with his children throughout their many travels. Vance was known for his wonderfully witty and infectious sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Vance was preceded in death by his loving wife Annie, sister Marian Cribb Tingley, and brothers James Cribb and William Cribb.
He is survived by his children Carol Marroquin and husband Ronnie, Sherrie Kroll and husband Wayne, Vance Cribb III and wife Cindy, and Linda Janecek and husband Stephen; grandchildren Savannah Lester, Kevin Kroll, Kayla Janysek, Kristin Boran, Kathryn Emmons, Zach Marroquin, Tanner Marroquin, Sydney Miller, Bradley Furry and Michael Furry; great grandchildren Mischay Furry, Julian Furry and Remy Furry.
Pallbearers: Vance Cribb, Ronnie Marroquin, Wayne Kroll, Stephen Janecek, Kevin Kroll, Andrew Janysek, John Boran, Cody Emmons, Brian Janecek, Scott Janecek.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10-11 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 11 am, with burial at Shillerville Cemetery. Officiant: Don McCullough
