

Victor Emanuel Haynes, Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the age of 95. He was born in Victoria on July 17, 1922, to the late Mattie Miosga and Victor Emanuel Haynes. Victor graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1940. He served as a pilot in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean war. Victor continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves and retired as a Major in 1982. Vick was married to the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Haynes for 67 years. He was the first Allstate Insurance agent in Victoria and retired from the company after 46 years. He was most grateful for all the fine people he made friends with during his career in the insurance business. He was past president of the Optimist club and a member of the Catholic A.C.T.S. community. Vick had many friends in the Lamar and Rockport, TX and was an avid fisherman.
Victor is survived by son, Robert Haynes of Rockport, son Greg Haynes and wife Lisa of Victoria; granddaughters Tayler Whipple and husband Joe of Houston, Victoria Haynes, Christina Haynes and Elizabeth Haynes, all of Victoria.
Victor was preceded in death by his wife Mary Haynes, his parents and step mother Caroline Miller Haynes.
The family would like to give special thanks to Victor Keefe for his spiritual guidance, the staff and nurses at Hospice of South Texas, along with the staff of the Dover House. Pallbearers are John Burgman, James Mathis, John Consley, Tyler Ricotilli, Howard Marek and William Crouch. Honorary Pallbearers are all of the individuals he had insured as an Allstate agent.

A time of visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 9am on Wednesday, August 9th with Rosary to be recited at 9:30am, Funeral mass at 10am, with Father Gabriel Bentil officiating. Burial with military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
